After 24 years, Élisabeth and Philippe Morizot hand over to Carine and Erwann

Le Petit Kériquel has turned a page. After twenty-four years at the head of the Val d’Oust hotel and restaurant, Élisabeth and Philippe Morizot officially handed over to Carine Bouchet and her son Erwann, at an evening that brought together many guests, friends and local officials. Les Infos du Pays Gallo reported on this emotional occasion.

Twenty-four years of a family house

The evening opened with a sentence that sums it all up:

“24 years is quite a slice of life.” (translated from French)

Over the years, the couple built a solid reputation: the quality of the food and the welcome won them many loyal guests, who came to say goodbye. Élisabeth Morizot looked back on this quarter of a century:

“There was a lot of work, some very full days, a few very short nights, but above all a huge number of encounters, memories and wonderful stories.” (translated from French)

Le Petit Kériquel was never just a workplace: their children grew up there, and with the regulars the line sometimes blurred.

“Some of our guests have become friends, some regulars are almost members of the family.” (translated from French)

Carine and Erwann write the next chapter

Carine Bouchet took over the house on 4 September with her son Erwann. She is on familiar ground: she worked for more than sixteen years at the Brit Hotel in Saint-Méen-le-Grand, in Ille-et-Vilaine, which she managed for five years, and had long dreamed of a family-run house. Erwann, for his part, is in charge of the kitchen.

Élisabeth and Philippe Morizot handed the house over to them with confidence, before concluding:

“Now it is up to Carine and Erwann to write what comes next.” (translated from French)

What does not change

The new team is keeping the spirit that made Le Petit Kériquel’s reputation: seasonal cooking, a generous table and a warm welcome, in the heart of Val d’Oust, between Ploërmel, Josselin and Brocéliande. To discover Erwann’s cooking, see the menu or book a table.
